Contact before visiting
Confirm visiting arrangements and animal availability directly. Some rescues use foster homes, appointments, or a mailing address rather than a public shelter.
About this organization
A Wheeling shelter with dog and cat adoption programs, foster care and working-cat placements.
How adoption works
Submit a dog or cat application and meet the animal. Adopters must be 21 or older with government ID; renters need a lease permitting the pet or landlord contact details. Dog applicants should bring household members and resident dogs unless staff approve an exception. Kittens under six months generally need paired adoption. Animals are not held.
Meeting the animals
No appointment is needed during open hours: Thursday–Friday, 4–7 pm, and Saturday–Sunday, noon–6 pm; closed Monday–Wednesday. Visitors under 18 need a parent. By phone, press 7 for dogs or 5 for cats. Check each pet's location because some are in foster homes or at a partner store.
