Contact before visiting
Confirm visiting arrangements and animal availability directly. Some rescues use foster homes, appointments, or a mailing address rather than a public shelter.
About this organization
PAWS Chicago's Lincoln Park adoption center helps dogs and cats find homes, with a separate foster-adoption process for animals living offsite.
How adoption works
Complete the compatibility quiz and application, then arrange a meeting. Adopters must be 21 or older, have government photo ID and housing permission, and bring all family members; resident dogs must attend a dog adoption meeting. Be ready to take an approved pet home that day. Resident-pet spay/neuter exceptions require veterinary records and manager review.
Meeting the animals
Open Monday–Friday, noon–7 pm, and Saturday–Sunday, 11 am–5 pm. Walk-ins are welcome; appointments are recommended. Animals cannot be held. Use the foster inquiry form for a pet living in foster care.
