Newark, New Jersey
Contact before visiting
Confirm visiting arrangements and animal availability directly. Some rescues use foster homes, appointments, or a mailing address rather than a public shelter.
About this organization
AHS's Newark shelter places companion animals into adoptive homes.
Meeting the animals
Visit during the shelter's adoption hours, currently noon to 5 pm daily. Complete the adoption application ahead of time for preapproval and confirm the animal's location before travelling. Contact the shelter to confirm its current visiting hours and adoption process.
