Contact before visiting
Confirm visiting arrangements and animal availability directly. Some rescues use foster homes, appointments, or a mailing address rather than a public shelter.
About this organization
Jersey City's municipal animal shelter finds adoptive and foster homes for companion animals.
Meeting the animals
Appointments are strongly encouraged. Public hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 pm; other listed facility hours are appointment-only and city holidays are closed. Submit an adoption application with lease or property-owner pet permission as applicable. Contact the shelter to confirm its current visiting hours and adoption process.
