Animals In Distress
Wilton, Connecticut
Animals In Distress cares for homeless cats and kittens in Wilton, Connecticut. Founded in 1964, it became an exclusively feline organization after the town established its own dog shelter. Its current cat shelter is behind Wilton Town Hall; kittens and overflow cats may receive foster care. Volunteers feed, clean and care for cats throughout the year. Cats are not ordinarily caged, and the rescue says residency has no time limit. It describes euthanasia only for severe health or quality-of-life concerns rather than an unconditional promise. New cats without documented medical histories receive veterinary evaluation, FIV/FeLV testing, rabies and distemper vaccinations and alteration when needed. Confirm the particular cat’s completed care. The organization says it receives no Town of Wilton funding; sharing a municipal site does not make it the town’s dog-control operator.
